The American Prospect is an extremely liberal publication with an extremely liberal readership. It's the National Review for liberals.
Recently, Matt Taibbi wrote an article for Rolling Stone Magazine, wherein Taibbi critized Barack Obama's handling of the economic crisis. Taibbi noted, appropriate, that most of Obama's advisers are Wall Street cronies. Taibbi's article is fantastic.
The American Prospect's Tim Fernholz write a flaccid critique of Taibbi's article. The critique mainly contained quibbles and non-material factual errors (the name of one guys' son, e.g.). The Prospect's readership, rather than rally around Fernholz and Obama, tore into Fernholz. The comments are hilarious.
Recently, Jon Stewart began mocking President Obama.

What does it mean for Obama when even liberals are going after him?
The bailouts have been a disaster. Historians are going to point to Obama's elite inner circle. Obama loaded his staff with elitists. To elitists, of course the bailouts were necessary. And, as far as Wall Street was concerned, the bailouts were necessary - necessary so that Goldman Sachs could pay our record bonuses this year.
